On July 20, a federal bankruptcy judge approved the sale of a former General Motors Corp. plant in Wilmington, Del., to Fisker Automotive Inc.
Fisker, a California-based plug-in electric vehicle start-up will pay $20 million for the 3.2 million-square foot plant. Fisker intends to use a $529 million low-cost government loan to assemble 100,000 vehicles per year. Production is scheduled to start in 2012. The Wilmington plant first began operations in 1947 and produced 8,561,451 motor vehicles over a 52-year run.

Now that's recycling! It's good to see something positive will coming out of GM plants.
I definitely have seen change since Obama took office. All people need is a financial incentive and things happen. Obama did what other presidents did not. He gave companies a financial incentive to be green and gave much needed jolt to the green mobility movement. Because of this small step he essentially changed the US and the world, forever.
I think that will be Obama's strongest legacy.
Looking forward to getting myself a clean car. I used to ride my bike to work everyday and it didn't work out well. I'd arrive pumped, but all sweaty and smelly. Oh, the looks I got from my coworkers.
I still ride my bike to work everyday, but it's mostly downhill. ;)
I'm sure you coworkers are hoping that electric car thing works out for you, Joanne. ;))
