Bombardier, a Canadian jet maker, has formally announced a new test program that aims to fly a Porter Airlines Q400 aircraft using a renewable biofuel made from camelina. Camelina is a member of the same plant family as cauliflower and cabbage. The test program will begin in early 2012.
The Q400 is built in Toronto, and the engines are made by Pratt & Whitney Canada in Longueuil. Funding will come from partners and Sustainable Development Technology Canada, a not-for-profit firm created by the federal government and Green Aviation Research & Development Network.

Hope for the future!
The only bio-fuels that I am comfortable with are the ones that come form organic waste. But I think the main problem lies in the volume? Where will all this bio-fuel come form?
