The development of new infrastructures is necessary to achieve energy alternatives to petrol. Biofuel, gas, hydrogen, electricity…the alternatives are numerous, but only those who succeed in developing a network will be used on a vast scale.To beat range anxiety
We call it range anxiety ; in France they talk about limited range of the electric car. It is often seen as a brake on the electric car development. However, most of the electric models’s range varies between 120 and 150 Km, which is more than enough if we take into account that in France for example, 80% of car journeys are lower than 55 km.
Even if most of electric cars will be charged at home at night, it is necessary to offer reinsurance for charging infrastructure. Altogether, according to the french Ministry of Ecology’s forecast , about one million of charging points should be implemented in 2015 and almost 10 million in 2025. This could help to clear the obstacle of the range anxiety.
